Research Interest
Zimmer researches and teaches critical studies in film and other screen media, focusing particularly on the intersections of politics and popular culture. Her scholarly work includes her book Surveillance Cinema (NYU Press, 2015), the article "The Work of Horror after Get Out" (Black Camera International Film Journal Spring 2023), and numerous other articles in journals such as Camera Obscura, Film Quarterly, and Surveillance and Society.
